The Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman

was an exceptionally spacious and luxurious sedan based on the chassis of the W100 model. It was typically favored by statesmen, high-ranking personalities, and other influential individuals seeking the highest level of comfort and style. The notable difference from the standard version was an extended wheelbase, allowing for a generous expansion of the rear interior. Typically, the Mercedes 600 Pullman featured two rows of seats, with passengers in the second row facing forward. This seating arrangement created an extremely comfortable and private space in the rear of the vehicle, ideal for discreet conversations or focused work during travel. The hydraulic suspension system, already found in the standard Mercedes 600, was also retained in the Pullman version, ensuring a remarkably smooth and comfortable ride by effectively absorbing road irregularities. The interior of the Mercedes 600 Pullman was of the highest quality, featuring the finest leather, noble wood trim, and carpets. Customers had the opportunity to customize the interior to their individual preferences and needs, adding to the uniqueness of each vehicle and emphasizing the Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman's claim to luxury and exclusivity. The Pullman limousine was valued not only for its luxury but also for its exclusivity. It was used by numerous influential personalities and government representatives worldwide. To this day, the Mercedes-Benz Pullman is regarded as an outstanding example of luxury and comfort in the automotive industry. The production of this Pullman version of the Mercedes-Benz 600 spanned from 1963 to 1981 and significantly contributed to the legend of the W100.

According to the data card available to us, the Mercedes-Benz W100 600 offered here in the rare Pullman version was delivered on 26 February 1969 to the Royal Elysées luxury hotel in the centre of Paris, which still exists today, just a few metres from the Arc de Triomphe. It can be assumed that the car was used in the following years as a shuttle vehicle for the hotel's most important guests. In 1990, the 600 Pullman was sold to its new owner for 619,269.50 francs via the bailiff Roger Stauffer, based in Strasbourg. We also have the certificate of sale. The new owner, living in Tamm near Stuttgart, invested over €90,000 in technical work over the following 17 years, including on the air suspension, hydraulic system, engine and brakes, in order to keep his vehicle in running order throughout. All invoices and an expert report from these years are available. At the same time, the highest value was placed on originality and so the original interior is still installed in the vehicle today. In 2007, the car was purchased by Mechatronik Sammlungsverwaltung, which stored it in our in-house exhibition and used it for special occasions. Today, this 600 Pullman is in fully functional condition and is an asset to any high-calibre Mercedes collection, particularly due to its originality. Our sales staff will be happy to answer any detailed questions you may have. Please note that vehicle viewings are only possible by prior appointment.
